This 4-hour class livestream session will be split between two different 2-hour TREC accredited continuing education classes:
1PM to 3PM: Wells and Septics
In this course, Wells and Septics (02054-INSC) inspectors will learn about the inspection protocols for private water wells and septic systems in residential settings. Inspectors will gain knowledge about the operational routines and best practices for inspecting these systems, focusing on normal modes of operation. The course will cover common deficiencies found in wells and septic systems and conditions under which inspectors should recommend further evaluation by a specialist. By the end of this course, inspectors will be able to demonstrate a higher level of proficiency in identifying and assessing the condition of private water wells and septic systems during home inspections. This is a two-hour deep-dive course into Wells and Septics.
3PM to 5PM: Formulating a Foundation Performance Opinion
The objective of the course, Formulating a Foundation Performance Opinion (TREC #02358-INSC), is to help licensed home inspectors formulate required opinions on foundation performance. Inspectors will gain competence in how to inspect various types of foundations, distinguish between common deficiencies and visual signs of adverse performance, and effectively communicate both written reports and oral presentations regarding foundation performance findings to clients. In addition, inspectors will gain an appropriate understanding of the proper use and application of specialized equipment such as altimeters to confirm findings in relation to the TREC Standards of Practice.
